This course examines women's roles in U.S. politics by exploring concepts like "women's issues" and the "political process" within specific historical contexts. Students will investigate gender ideologies, study female political leaders, and analyze issues like suffrage, queer and trans rights, and the 2024 election. The course emphasizes media-making, where students engage in digital and documentary storytelling and collaborate on a media project. It is designed to explore gender as a framework for understanding politics, focusing on femininity, masculinity, trans politics, and the intersections of identity in the political landscape.
